August 28, 2013 Stream Conditions
The water at Bennett Spring is in great shape. Normally we have low water and clear conditions. The water is a few inches above normal now and it has a milky cast to it. Fishing has been great. We are seeing smaller fish in some areas of the stream but most people are catching fish. The Niangua river has improved a lot since the flood three weeks ago. The Niangua was about 19 feet high at its highest point for several years. No rain in the forecast, so it will be hot and dry through the upcoming holiday weekend. Floating the Niangua will be a perfect float for this time of the year.
